Giants explode for 187 in win at Gainesville, GA

GAINESVILLE, Ga. - The Jacksonville Giants defeated the Gainesville Heat 187-110 in the Giants second of three away games the team will play in Georgia this weekend. Anthony Jackson led the team in scoring with 27 points. ABA Finals MVP Jermaine Bell added 24 points 9 rebounds and 7 blocks. As a team, the Giants had five players with over 20 points. Ed Horton added a triple-double to the winning effort with 22 points, 10 assists and 10 rebounds.. “As Head Coach I am always looking for areas in which we can improve, but tonight the team played well. It is hard to criticize any part of our game when the team executes as they did tonight.”

This is the Giants second win of their three game road trip which began with the team beating the #11 ranked Albany Shockwave. The Giants have won 5 consecutive games and improve their overall record to 13-1. Jacksonville is currently ranked 2nd in the ABA Power Rankings and looking to regain the #1 spot.

The Giants will conclude their road trip by playing the Atlanta Wildcats on Sunday evening.  The Wildcats are currently ranked 16th in the ABA Power Rankings. The Giants return to Veterans Memorial Arena January 4th and 5th where the team will play back-to-back nights. First the Giants will face off against their rival the Gulf Coast Flash Friday night followed by the Birmingham Blitz Saturday.
