ATLANTA, GA.--The Jacksonville Giants improve to 4-0 in Atlanta, GA as they continue to defend the championship title on their 2-game road trip. Guard, Anthony Jackson’s team-leading 27 points and 2 steals carried the Giants to a 130-98 victory Tuesday over the Grizzlies in Savannah. Two-time ABA All-Star Jermaine Bell made his presence known with 4 blocks and 23 points. Still early in the season, the new team is finding their rhythm and working on their on-court chemistry.  Proud of the progress Coach Waters stated, “this team has a lot of pressure following last years’ championship, but they really started click on this last road trip. This was perfect timing with our home opener being this Saturday.”

On Wednesday night the Giants defeated division opponent Eastpoint Jaguars 135-85.  Returning Giant Ed Horton and former NBA player Damone Brown both recorded a double-double; 18 points, 10 assists and 10 points, 10 rebounds respectively.  Sharp shooter Curry Todd contributed a game-high 30 points.

The Giants open their 2012-2013 season at home on Champions Night, Saturday, December 8th, 7pm in an ABA Finals rematch against the South Carolina Warriors. The Giants will celebrate their 2012 ABA Championship title with Jacksonville’s first professional basketball ring-and-banner ceremony preceding the game.
