BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Jacksonville Giants (12-0) handed the South Florida Gold (5-1) their first loss of the ABA season Saturday night in Boca Raton 119-116.

Jacksonville trailed 59-53 at the half.

The Giants’ leading scorer was league MVP Jermaine Bell with 31 points. The Gold was led by Ronnie Battle’s 38 points. Jacksonville’s Kevin Waters also recorded his 100th career win as a head coach.

The road trip continues as the two teams meet again tomorrow at 4 p.m. in Boca Raton. The Giants play the Montgomery Blackhawks at home Saturday at the UNF arena at 7 p.m.
