JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Jacksonville Jaguars training camp got a bit exciting on Tuesday when Jags owner Shad Khan arrived for his first camp practice.
Khan walked onto the Florida Blue Practice Fields around 8:45am to the delight of fans. Khan signed autographs and talked to fans before and after the two hour practice session.
Khan watched most of the practice in between two of the fields. Jaguars head coach Mike Mularkey stopped to say hello and shook hands with the owner before continuing his practice drills.
The players noticed Khan's presence.
"You always know when the head man is around," said Rashean Mathis. "There's a buzz in the air that he's on the field."
Of course, Khan unveiled the new $3 million locker room to his team a few days ago and the players are still raving about it.
"I'll take this time to say thank you," said Mathis. "In our hearts and how we're trying to keep it clean, we're trying to show our appreciation."
Khan is leaving town tomorrow for more business, but plans on attending next Friday's first preseason game at Everbank Field against the Giants.
