For the last six years, local everyday hero Judy Hicks has adopted 250 daniel kids for the holidays. Her personal commitment to improving the lives of these abused and abandoned local kids ensures that they will at least have a better holiday season.
For more than ten years, Judy has made it her mission to help the abused, abandoned and neglected children of daniel. As the volunteer coordinator for daniel, I have never seen anyone so passionate and driven to help children in need. Since 1997, Judy has been a volunteer, board member and fundraiser and has helped more than 1,300 children and raised more than $100,000.
In 2002, Judy founded Womenade as a way to make a greater impact. Womenade members have directly mentored more than 100 kids in the past six years and prepared a career preparation course called “Finding Your Future” for homeless teens that helps enable them to have a stable home with steady employment.
I am especially impressed by and grateful to Judy during the holiday season when she provides gifts to around 250 children each year. She has provided gifts through her business contacts at an in-kind value of more than $400,000.
Please consider Judy Hicks as your everyday hero, because she is not only my hero, she is a hero to hundreds of local children in need.
