Summer provides extra time for hobbies, and especially extra daylight for digital photography.  A Beginning Digital Photography class on Friday, June 21, 2013 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Comfort Suites in Waycross provides an environment to sharpen photography skills. St. Marys photographer and instructor, Jackie DeBusk, breaks down digital photography in easy-to-understand terms, providing a hands-on exercise with each explanation.
Participants will learn how to take their digital SLR and prosumer or bridge cameras off of auto and begin to creatively apply exposure, metering, and white balance settings, as well as learn about focus area, histograms, and principles of sound composition. Students take home a booklet and quick reference card to reinforce dozens of hands-on exercises. Nearby attractions offer opportunities to practice newfound digital photography skills.
DeBusk was awarded an artist-in-residence in SC in 2012 and has sold hundreds of pictures in more than twelve portfolios of over 2000 pictures for sale at microstock sites. Many stock photography sites require technically perfect photos without alterations. These demanding submission requirements qualify DeBusk to impart the techniques to get excellent photographs from the start.
Workshop is limited to 25 participants. Register online at http://www.debuskphoto.com.  Fee, $49, payable by secured PayPal online or by check offline.
Additional workshops include locations of Yulee, Hinesville, and St. Augustine. In addition to Beginning Digital Photography, DeBusk will be teaching Artistic and Novelty Photo Editing for the Beginner in both Hinesville and St. Augustine. All workshops are also promoted on EventBrite.com. For additional information, call (912)580-5308.
