A Jacksonville homeowner shot and killed a man after he found two burglars inside his home on Wednesday.

A Jacksonville Sheriff's Office helicopter and many officers are searching for the second suspect after the shooting on Park Street.

A JSO spokesperson said an alarm at the man's home on Park Street was triggered just before noon.

The homeowner got to the house before police officers. He found two people inside and confronted them.

The homeowner was armed and shot one of the burglary suspects. The man died at the scene.

JSO is searching for the second man. He is described as a black male in his 20s wearing a blue hoodie and dark clothes.

JSO said the men came to the home in a 4-door silver car, which did not have a license plate on it. It was left at the home after the second suspect fled.

Officers do not know if the man is armed.

Action News Jax has a crew on the scene.
